Curious about plein air painting but not sure where to start? This workshop is designed just for you. Whether you’re brand new to painting or simply want to experience the joy of painting outdoors, this class offers an approachable and encouraging introduction to plein air.

We’ll begin indoors with a relaxed overview of the basics — what plein air painting is, how to choose a subject, how to simplify what you see, and most importantly, how to approach the experience without feeling overwhelmed. Our instructor will share practical tips to help you focus, loosen up, and make the process meaningful and fun.

Students will work on canvas using acrylic paints and studio easels. All materials are included — just bring yourself, a water bottle, and a snack if you’d like.

After our introduction, we’ll head outside to paint together and put what you’ve learned into action.

This workshop is held rain or shine. In the event of rain, we’ll stay indoors and paint from a beautiful landscape projected on the big screen — ensuring you still gain the full plein air experience in a comfortable setting.
